Description
A website listing information about starting a school garden, including curriculum materials and ideas. There are many opportunities available for children to become involved with plants, gardens, or the outdoors in general. Some of these opportunities include children's programs at school gardens, botanic gardens or community gardens. This site contains ideas for gardening with kids.

Varies, grants available, in-kind donations from local garden centers, lots of time cost on part of teacher unless collaborates with parents and other teachers

Grants are available:

  • Healthy Sprouts = $200 gift certificate for garden material includes curriculum package. Application due date – contact Lead Agency

  • Hooked on Hydroponics = Grant includes material for starting an indoor garden: indoor lights, drainage system, and plants. Application due September 30, 2006
