The FUEL series encourages youth to eat when they’re hungry, stop when they’re full, move their bodies in activities they enjoy, and question and respond to media messages. The approach is to encourage positive activism and profile what real kids are doing to address obesity.
-
Skin Deep - Media Literacy, Self-Esteem, and Body Image
Teens provide skills and tools for decoding media messages about attractiveness, emphasizing that the media often creates, then propagates, unattainable standards of perfection.
-
Energy for Action - Healthy Eating and Nutrition
Teens take action to ensure that healthy food choices are the norm instead of the exception.
-
The Perfect Machine - Physical Activity
Teens make physical activity a lifetime habit by finding activities they enjoy, rather than working out to burn calories or attain a "body goal".
-
Taking on the World - Positive Activism
Teens take it upon themselves to change the world—one small step at a time—regarding food politics, activity, body image, and the media.
