2007 Recognition Breakfast Overview

On May 4, 2007 Nebraska Action for Healthy Kids held its Recognition Breakfast & Awards Reception. During the event schools and districts were awarded for addressing the epidemic of overweight, undernourished and sedentary youth through collaborative, innovative, and evidence-based strategies.

Awards were presented to schools and/or districts based on exemplary actions in the following areas:

• Nutrition/Health Education
• Physical Activity
• Physical Education
• School Nutrition Services
• Community Collaboration
• Implementation of Wellness Policy

The Keynote Address was given by Dr. Christina Perry, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
